Radius Matua in Tauranga is a modern rest home, hospital and dementia care facility providing ‘round the clock care for those who can no longer manage safely on their own. We know that when your loved one can no longer live completely independently, choosing an aged care home can be one of the most emotional, and important decisions you need to make. That’s why we put the diverse care needs of our residents first, and our trained staff provide individualised care that allows all of our residents to live with dignity and as independently as possible.
Most rooms in our residential care facility have individual attached ensuites. The majority of the rooms are single, with a few double rooms for married couples, or those who prefer a bit of company. Our residents’ rooms have heating units and are equipped with a telephone outlet, television points and call button. The rest home’s lounges flow onto central courtyards, bringing the outdoors “in”, and the hospital’s interior is designed to create a warm and comfortable ambience.
For many of our residents, the hardest part about adjusting to rest home care is leaving behind their beloved pets. Here at Matua, we foster an animal-friendly culture. When walking through the main reception, be prepared for an encounter with the ruler of Radius Matua—Jess, our friendly office dog. We have a large fish tank, an aviary full of different birds, a number of cats, and even three turtles in their special pond enclosure. Alongside the “Matua Menagerie” that regularly visit our facility, our residents also enjoy regular visits from various canine friends, courtesy of the local SPCA.
Here at Radius Matua we love an excuse to celebrate, and our New Year’s Eve party is a highlight of every year. Our seven-day activity rosters encourage residents to join in and keep active every day, and our park-like gardens and sheltered courtyards provide a tranquil place for residents, family and friends to relax and spend time. Radius Matua offers a social and stimulating atmosphere with great food, a wide range of activities, and caring, compassionate staff.
